M. Shannon Peterson
Shannon has focused her practice on the defense of employers, insurers, and self-insured clients in workers’ compensation cases in Minnesota and Wisconsin since 1987. Over the years, she has tried hundreds of cases and has represented many clients on appeal. Shannon enjoys working closely with clients to develop litigation and settlement strategies; she consults frequently with clients making claim-handling decisions, and she works closely with them when they have questions about workers’ compensation law as it applies to their specific claims. As part of her practice, Shannon also devotes her energy to providing seminars for clients on issues directly related to their day-to-day work. Her focus is always on the specific needs of the client.
Before joining McCollum Crowley in 2003, Shannon worked for the Office of Administrative Hearings, the Workers’ Compensation Court of Appeals, and as in-house counsel for Wausau Insurance Company and Liberty Mutual Insurance. She earned her law degree from the University of Minnesota in 1982 and is admitted to practice law in both Minnesota and Wisconsin.
In her spare time, Shannon enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and devoting herself to pottery.
