"Life is not a rehearsal. Give your best each and every day."
Cindi's primary focus is the defense of workers' compensation and liability claims. She travels throughout the beautiful state of Wisconsin defending employers and insurers on workers' compensation matters as well as liability cases. She became interested in insurance defense when working as a claim representative and supervisor for State Farm Insurance.
Her favorite part of practicing law is meeting with clients and witnesses to put together the pieces of the case to provide a defense. If a client wants a case to settle, then her focus is on getting the best deal possible within the parameters set by the client. She also enjoys giving seminars to insurance clients; given her past experience working in the claims business, Cindi finds that she really connects with claims staff when training on Wisconsin workers' compensation law.
Because she's also licensed to practice law in Minnesota, Cindi often finds herself conflicted when deciding whether to cheer for the Green Bay Packers or Minnesota Vikings. Before settling in Wisconsin, she went to school and lived in Minnesota for ten years. Her son currently attends the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, so she has to cheer for both the Wisconsin Badgers and the Minnesota Gophers.
Cindi is a member of the Claims & Litigation Management Alliance (CLM). In 2014, she attended the Litigation Management Institute hosted at Columbia Law School in New York, which focused on improving the relationship between insurance companies and their defense counsel. Following this, she was sworn in as a member of the United States Supreme Court in May 2015 along with several other CLM members.
When not working for her clients, you'll find Cindi cheering on her children as a Rice Lake Warrior fan at a soccer game, cross country meet, basketball game, or track meet. She proudly supports the Rice Lake Warrior Marching Band, where her daughter now serves as the drum majorette—a position Cindi held in her own high school career. Cindi and her therapy dog, Watson the Golden Retriever, are certified through Pet Partners to visit hospitals, nursing homes, and children's centers to provide pet therapy. She also enjoys spending time with her husband, Paul, to whom she has been married for over 23 years.
