McCollum Crowley Files Amicus Brief to MN Supreme Court on Behalf of MDLA

The Minnesota Defense Lawyers Association selected McCollum Crowley to draft and file an amicus brief in the upcoming Minnesota Supreme Court case Carter Justice v. Marvel LLC. McCollum Crowley’s brief was submitted in support of the respondent, Marvel LLC. At issue in the case is whether a parent’s waiver of tort liability on behalf of his or her child remains valid after the child becomes an adult and brings suit. The plaintiff in the case, Carter Justice, fell off of inflatable amusement equipment owned and operated by Marvel LLC after his mother signed a liability waiver. He was seven at the time and sued after he turned eighteen. The Supreme Court will hear oral argument in the case on May 11th.
